WALDO, Fla. – Daven Cole Garner, 26, and Jalon Ezekiel Williams, 21, were arrested late last night after crashing a stolen car and then allegedly stealing a second vehicle, slamming that vehicle into an occupied K-9 patrol vehicle, crashing it into a tree, and fleeing from officers into swampy terrain, where they were apprehended by an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team.
At about 10:25 p.m. last night, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a call from a business owner in Waldo who said he was watching Williams break into his business on his security camera. Williams allegedly broke in through a window and walked through the business until he found the keys to a Toyota Forerunner that was parked outside the business. Williams and Garner allegedly drove away in the Forerunner. Cheap Second Hand Cars
A K-9 Deputy in the area saw the Forerunner in the 15200 block of U.S. Hwy 301, next to a wrecked Cadillac sedan; he reported that two men were transferring items from the sedan to the Forerunner. The deputy put on his emergency lights, and Williams, who was driving the Forerunner, allegedly put the vehicle in reverse and slammed it into the patrol car, throwing the deputy and the K-9 around inside the cab of the patrol vehicle.
Williams then allegedly drove away through thick underbrush before crashing into a tree, at which point both suspects fled on foot. They were apprehended after a K-9 track through the swampy terrain.
After the apprehension, deputies determined that the Cadillac had been stolen in Polk County and its tag had been stolen in Largo.
Post Miranda, Garner declined to answer any questions.
Post Miranda, Williams reportedly admitted removing a window air conditioner from the business, then breaking in and stealing the key to the Forerunner and the Forerunner itself. He also reportedly admitted that he knew the Cadillac and its tag were stolen.
Garner, who is described as homeless in court documents, has been charged with two counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle, theft of the tag, and resisting an officer. He has no local criminal history but served a state prison sentence on six felony charges out of Bay County and was released in 2020. Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $60,000.

Given the evidence, time to stop apprehending and just put ’em down. Call the newly employed coroner to come pick up the remains, no autopsy required. Win Win.
Yeaaaaah no due process or anything.. ohhh I guess that right is only reserved for autocratic presidential candidates.. smh.. sound like the party of law and order 😒
Their processes is what got them into trouble. Now they need to get what’s due. Maybe they should have reserved some common sense and obeyed the laws and orders.
Liberals, gotta love ’em ’cause we can’t do anything with them.
Call your buddy Donald and give him the same advice, see how that works out.
Sounds like a plan. Maybe your buddy Cornell can get me some free unlimited phone calls.
So you honestly believe that someone should die over stolen property?
Read the story, that’s not all they did or have done. Thanks for playing.
These two punks need to be in a cage.
How can Garner have no criminal record, but has served time on 6 felony counts? Maybe he should never be free again?
He has no LOCAL criminal history. He was charged with several burglaries in Bay County and served a light prison sentence.
These ” alleged” criminals need a good ole “alleged” ass whoopin’. I hope they are treated severly.
Both must have heard about the deals that Big Harv and Kenny are dishing out to the homeless and the freebes Ken wants offered at the jail. Both are nasty thieves that were probably raised to take what they want and never work a day in their lives. It would have been nice if the K9 could have taken a bite out crime. But then again the dog would never get that Sh– taste out of his mouth.
Real nice police chase video, out of Marion County ( 1 1/2 years ago ? ) where a k-9 gets a good face down, crotch bite. LMFAO ! ! Watched it a dozen times. on Youtube.
…Homless, new to the area…. that’s all we need to know. Too bad it wasn’t Wardy’s car or Eastman’s bike and helmet… LOL>
Why did the po-lice have to arrest these two fine young men? Now they have a criminal record and that dashes their future promising careers of being a brain surgeon or upstanding member of the Florida Bar. Such talent wasted.
Give those men a phone, stat
They should be able to make free unlimited phone calls in jail…not! Let them rot in jail to learn their lesson to stay out of the system! “ Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time!”…
WTF are homeless from elsewhere coming here, a college town? Bidenomics is killing low wage employers everywhere else, too. But coming here is even worse for their future prospects, unless they work for a Dem-grant NGO. 🤡👹🤡🍦🍦🍦🍦D
