SOLSONA, Ilocos Norte – A modified tricycle driver was killed in a collision with a truck in Solsona, Ilocos Norte on Saturday.
The victim was identified as Joel Asuncion, 39, of Man-anteng, Solsona. Carbon Mtb Bike
Investigation said the victim was driving a “kurung- kurung” or modified tricycle and tried to overtake a vehicle. However, he failed to notice the oncoming truck driven by Warren Ramos, 30, a resident of Barangay Maan-anteng, Solsona.
Ramos tried to maneuver the truck away but still hit the modified tricycle. The truck rammed into a tree beside the road.
Both drivers sustained injuries and were taken to the nearest hospital. However, Asuncion died before reaching the hospital due to serious body injuries.
Kids Battery Car Ramos has been discharged from the hospital and under police custody. Follow-up probe is ongoing.
